La Amistad International Park

La Amistad International Park is located at the southern end of the Talamanca Mountain Range, bordered on the north by the Chirripo National Park and continues its expansion into the Republic of Panama, it has an area of approximately 200 thousand hectares in Costa Rica and 210 thousand in Panama.

Within this large forest mass there is a variety of forest types. From the cloud forest, where bromeliads and orchids abound, to the moors that are on the tops of the mountains such as Cerro Kamuk, Cerro Durica, Cerro Brunca, Cerro Cabecar. All this makes it an exceptional area with a unique habitat for many species such as tapirs, jaguars, cougars, among others.
